MixFM Morning Mix

MRS. GRANT'S BIO / MRS. GRANT'S BLOG

Mrs. Grant is a Tucson native, born and raised right here in the beautiful Old Pueblo.  She and her husband Don are parents to 2 wonderful, very active kids; daughter Mackenzie, and son Jeremy.

Mrs. Grant came to work at MIXfm in March of 2003 after applying for the job as morning show administrative assistant 3 times. The first time was in 1998, again in 2000 but the 3rd time was a charm in 2003. Now 7 years later, Mrs. Grant is the "soccer playing, zumba dancing mom" on the Bobby Rich Morning MIX.

Okay, time for the answer to the big question “Why Mrs. Grant?” The simple answer is she had the same first name as someone else on the show so, to limit confusion we needed her to use another name on-air. One day after the show, while returning a phone call to the nurse at her daughter’s school, it happened... As soon as the words, “Hello Mrs. Anderson, I am Mrs. Grant, Mackenzie’s mom,” left her mouth we knew it was the perfect choice.  She IS Mrs. Grant.

Mrs. Grant's favorite way to pass time is hanging out with her friends and family. She likes to barbeque and invite friends, family and/or neighbors to her house to eat, swim and just kick back and catch up for hours. She loves to be outdoors, and her idea of a great vacation is camping for a couple days somewhere in Arizona or on the beach in California.

Multi-tasking isn’t always a good thing
By mrsgrant @ 1:06 PM :: 814 Views :: 1 Comments ::

 Once again I managed to catch a small appliance on fire and this time it was at home rather than at work.  Earlier this year, I came into work and i had forgotten to bring breakfast so I bought a pop-tart, (yes I know they are bad for me) from the vending machine.  I popped it into the toaster and walked back into our studio while it cooked.

"The Look"
By mrsgrant @ 9:46 AM :: 757 Views :: 4 Comments ::

I learned last week that “the look” works at a distance just as good as it does up close and personal.  I am talking about “the look” a mom gives a child to bring attention to a bad choice.  Turns out it is even more powerful than I realized…

By mrsgrant @ 7:49 PM :: 655 Views :: 2 Comments ::

I had one of those rare weekends where my husband was not home most of weekend because he had to work the Home Show for his company so, I decided to take on a few of the things on the “Hunny Do List” at our house.

Avoiding a tough conversation
By mrsgrant @ 7:41 PM :: 706 Views :: 3 Comments ::

I think it is time for me to have one of those dreaded family conversations and I have no idea how to start or where to begin.  No, it's not one of those parent and child discussions about the birds and the bees or about not smoking or not using drugs, or not drinking alcohol but, it IS just as important.

Fashionista, I am not…
By mrsgrant @ 11:36 AM :: 752 Views :: 9 Comments ::
It seems I may have made a fashion blunder. Which is not surprising because I have always had fashion issues.  I am a grown woman who asks my mom to go shopping with me when I need to find an outfit for a special event.  I do try to shop for myself on my own however, its not always a good idea.  It seems my decision to venture out and do some shopping on my own may have been a bad one. So, I want to ask the women who are reading this for their help.

AAHHHH! I found myself on YouTube today
By mrsgrant @ 3:57 PM :: 681 Views :: 0 Comments

I love technology, I really do but it sometimes surprises me.  Today after the show, I was working on posting some audio to the Bobby Rich Morning Mix pages at www.mixfm.com when I get a call from Greg.  Leslie Lois and I were giving him a hard time over the phone.  I explained that we were "talking gossip"...

Nothing brings you back to reality like a shot in the arm
By mrsgrant @ 9:20 PM :: 488 Views :: 0 Comments

So, I got back from vacation Saturday morning, unpacked, showered, and then went to pick up one of my son's birthday surprises at the airport, my father-in-law flew in for his 7th birthday.  Sunday we are still in vacation mode and we had a great time with family and friends at our house for Jeremy's BBQ/Swim Party.  Then Monday rolled around, work was great but reality hit after the show when it was time to take my kids to their doctor for their physicals and shots...

My beautiful surprise
By mrsgrant @ 11:48 AM :: 747 Views :: 0 Comments
You know how it is, you're at work, you're up against a deadline and you’re feeling pressure. That is what I was going thru this morning after the morning show. I had a big project due and I had taken some of the files home with me yesterday so, I could turn it in this morning. I brought the files back to work with me this morning and after the show I began to pull the pieces together and finalize everything so, I could get it turned in as planned, 2 days before the official deadline. Why, 2 days before the official deadline?  Because I wanted it done and out of my hands. So as I am with any deadline I’m feeling pressure and I’m feeling rushed and stressed out because I am pushing myself to finish this project early. I’m printing out reports, going thru the files to make sure everything is in order and the information is complete and correct.  I just keep working through each file one by one and when I get to the 3rd file something stops me in my tracks. There in the file folder...
