MixFM Morning Mix

MRS. GRANT'S BIO / MRS. GRANT'S BLOG

Mrs. Grant is a Tucson native, born and raised right here in the beautiful Old Pueblo.  She and her husband Don are parents to 2 wonderful, very active kids; daughter Mackenzie, and son Jeremy.

Mrs. Grant came to work at MIXfm in March of 2003 after applying for the job as morning show administrative assistant 3 times. The first time was in 1998, again in 2000 but the 3rd time was a charm in 2003. Now 7 years later, Mrs. Grant is the "soccer playing, zumba dancing mom" on the Bobby Rich Morning MIX.

Okay, time for the answer to the big question “Why Mrs. Grant?” The simple answer is she had the same first name as someone else on the show so, to limit confusion we needed her to use another name on-air. One day after the show, while returning a phone call to the nurse at her daughter’s school, it happened... As soon as the words, “Hello Mrs. Anderson, I am Mrs. Grant, Mackenzie’s mom,” left her mouth we knew it was the perfect choice.  She IS Mrs. Grant.

Mrs. Grant's favorite way to pass time is hanging out with her friends and family. She likes to barbeque and invite friends, family and/or neighbors to her house to eat, swim and just kick back and catch up for hours. She loves to be outdoors, and her idea of a great vacation is camping for a couple days somewhere in Arizona or on the beach in California.

Negativity breeds negativity….
By mrsgrant @ 6:28 AM :: 503 Views :: 6 Comments ::

Today I was feeling a little “odd” and I couldn’t understand why.  As the morning progressed, I noticed I was over sensitive, and just had a nagging, unsettling feeling that I couldn’t understand or explain why.

On the outside looking in
By mrsgrant @ 7:20 AM :: 414 Views :: 1 Comments ::

My mom is an amazing woman who has always been there for me and both of my siblings.  She always found a way to balance our school activities, sports, dr. appointments, etc when were growing up and she continues to be our biggest supporter now as we are adults. I’d like to believe that I’d do the same for her but...

I know it is hot but come on…
By mrsgrant @ 2:44 PM :: 627 Views :: 4 Comments ::

The other night, I posted a note on Facebook about doing yard work that day, while it was overcast. My husband’s 16 year old nephew, who lives in Spokane, WA and has never been anywhere near Arizona posted a comment that really "burned me."

Sharing an experience via text
By mrsgrant @ 2:43 PM :: 641 Views :: 1 Comments ::

People ask me from time to time when they meet me in public if “we,” The Bobby Rich Morning MIX, really have as much fun as it sounds like we are having when we are on the radio.  We really do, we like to crack each other up. I especially like to crack the guys up right before they turn their microphones on to talk.  I always tell people, “I love my job and I really enjoy working with those guys.”   The usual response from people is “you can tell” or “it really sounds like it on the radio.”

I think the best part is, we get along outside of work too.  Not that we spend a lot of time together outside work because we are all busy with family, friends and other obligations but we are always communicating with each other email, phone, and text.

A great example of that, took place this weekend...

Multi-tasking isn’t always a good thing
By mrsgrant @ 1:06 PM :: 768 Views :: 1 Comments ::

 Once again I managed to catch a small appliance on fire and this time it was at home rather than at work.  Earlier this year, I came into work and i had forgotten to bring breakfast so I bought a pop-tart, (yes I know they are bad for me) from the vending machine.  I popped it into the toaster and walked back into our studio while it cooked.
