Bobby Rich was born.

This came as a big surprise to his parents, Marge & Howard, who thought they were getting a  puppy.   And to his sisters, Marcia & Jan, who thought they were The Brady Bunch.  He got started on the radio when he was 14. He just kept doing it because:

"I love what I do and I DO what I LOVE"

  • He loves Tucson too. He came here in 1992 and never left. The rest of the story is long and not really all that fascinating. However... if you really want to know more information than anyone would ever need, click here
  • Or if you are a broadcaster, a wanna-be broadcaster or just a really weird person--read this really long article in broadcast publication Inside Radio.

Gilligan, Hillbillies, Brady Bunch, etc.

.... Were you amazed that you knew almost all of them immediately and could even sing most of the lyrics?

"Sunday, Monday Happy Days..."

Why did TV stop doing those catchy, fun theme songs? Bigger question: why did they stop producing those fun, innocent, good clean fun shows? Have you ever noticed that they disappeared about the same time that our world started getting "darker", more serious, more hurried, and in some cases downright frightening?

"Here's a little story, about a man named Brady..."

Could there be a connection? Or am i simply wallowing in sweet nostalgia?

"Well the first thing you know Old Jeds a millionaire..."

The funny thing is that it seems people of all age groups know these true classic themes. So just because a show was on in the 80's, 70's or even 60's doesn't stop younger generations from knowing and singing these themes.

"Thank You for being a friend..."

Do you suppose that if TV brought back those type of shows--and their catchy themes--we would return to a happier place? I wish.

"I'm so glad we had this time together, Just to have a laugh or sing a song..."

I was just having this conversation with my 17 year old son when I was complaining to him about the TV shows and movies he watches. He informed me it was what real life is about. I told him that in my opinion, when the TV and movies turned dark it was when the world turned dark.
